Getting married on the shores of Lake Tahoe is so romantic. There is no better time than a wedding to get creative. And sometimes that means breaking with the tradition of what most brides perceive what a wedding should be. Although there are many accepted and sometimes expected traditions that surround weddings, who can’t says you can’t buck convention and create your own wedding tradition! Our coordinators at Tahoe Mountain Wedding Chapel have seen lots of creative “new” wedding traditions over the years. Don’t want to wear a white dress? You can wear any color you want. Want a “no aisle” ceremony? You go girl.
A few unconventional ceremony ideas we have seen over the years are for the guests to be served cocktails before the ceremony. Although I will say it probably is not the best idea for a church ceremony if you know what I mean. It does work well if you are getting married on the shores of Lake Tahoe. We have even had couples personally greet their invited guests “as” they arrive at the wedding. How about facing your guests as you say your wedding vows to one another. Bet you haven’t seen that before. Often couples getting married on the shores of Lake Tahoe will have their guests stand in a circle as they repeat their vows to one another. Another favorite is to have both set of parents walk the bride down the aisle. And better yet is for the groom to walk with the bride down the aisle.
